The Ultimate Winter Body Butter
Make yourself an evergreen infused oil by soaking pine, fir or spruce needles in an oil of your choice. Grapeseed, Sweet Almond or Jojoba are great choices.
The evergreen needles provide the blend with antioxidants and antimicrobial goodness. Add woody scents.
OR
You can make your infusion using wonderful South African Winter Herbs - Rooibos, Artemesia Afra, Rosemary, Ginger or Baobab being just some suggestions.
Your infusion needs to be made in advance and can be stored for many months in a cool dark place. Plan well ahead. The infusion is not limited to Body Butter. This can be included in your homemade soaps, shampoo and lotions or creams.
To speed up the process place the jar into a deep pot or crock pot filled with a few cms of water. You can protect the base of the jar by placing the jar onto a jar lid. Heat on a very low temperature for 8 hours. Do not overheat. Refill the water. It should not boil dry.
Allow to cool. Remove the herbs - strain the oil. Decant into a clean jar and store in a cool dark place.
