Unlock the Power of Crocodile Oil for Skin Care & Other Interesting Uses & Benefits.

Crocodile oil has been used for centuries in traditional medicine for its numerous benefits for skin and scalp health.   The Aborigines also used this to reduce pain, assist with joint movement and treat arthritis.  But what exactly are the uses and benefits of crocodile oil ? Let's dive into the science behind this powerful ingredient.

What makes crocodile oil beneficial for skin care?

Crocodile oil is rich in omega-3, omega-6, omega-7 and omega -9 ( saturated and unsaturated) fatty acids. It also contains vitamin E, making a potent ingredient for skin rejuvenation and hydration. These essential fatty acids help to repair the skin barrier, lock in moisture, and reduce inflammation, making it ideal for those with dry or sensitive skin.

How can crocodile oil improve skin conditions?

Studies have shown that crocodile oil has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties, making it effective in treating various skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, acne, and even wounds. The oil's ability to promote skin regeneration can help to heal and soothe irritated skin, leading to a healthier complexion.

What are the benefits of using crocodile oil in skin care products?

When incorporated into skincare products, crocodile oil can help to improve skin texture, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and enhance overall skin health. Its lightweight texture allows for easy absorption into the skin without leaving a greasy residue, making it suitable for all skin types.  This oil penetrates deeply but does not clog pores making it an important additive to skin care products.

Are there any side effects of using crocodile oil on the skin?

While crocodile oil is generally considered safe for topical use, it is always recommended to perform a patch test before applying it to a larger area of the skin to check for any potential allergic reactions.

Other Uses of Crocodile Oil.

Crocodile oil which is extracted from the fat of the crocodile is a by product from crocodile farming operations and until more recently in mainstream health care, discarded as waste.

Crocodile oil is edible and can be ingested and taken as a dietary supplement.  It is known to improve vitality and benefits epileptics, cancer patients and HIV patients by boosting the immune system.   It is not a cure, but improves white blood cell counts and blood flow.

Crocodile oil has a very similar composition to human skin oil.  It differs only with regard to the percentages of ingredients present.    The unsaturated or good fatty acids namely 3.6, 7 and 9 are responsible for the benefits to the skin listed above.

Omega 6 oils are very efficient for the treatment of atopic dermatitis.  Croc oil contains 20% Omega 6

Research has shown that Omega 9 oil promotes fast wound healing and a mix of 6 and 9 are antibacterial and anti fungal and therefore a good way to treat septic wounds.

There is also research that shows that Omega 3 and 6 oils counteract UV inducted hyper-pigmentation of the skin.

Croc oil contains Omega-7 (palmitoleic acid) which is similar to the contents of sebum (produced by human skin) and this also has antibacterial properties.   It has been found that products containing very high Omerga-7 counteracts spots, skin discolouration and hyper-pigmentation.  Research showed that postmenopausal women with large pigmentation sports disappeared completely.
